I am married with two adult children and have lived in Hertfordshire since 1976, and Welwyn Garden City since 2004.
Working for Hertfordshire County Council Social Services/Adult Care for 26 years, I spent three years as an administrator in the Home Care Office, thirteen years as a Home Care Manager, then ten years as a Quality Monitoring Officer. This involved monitoring home care agencies by visiting the service users in their own homes, a job covering the whole of Hertfordshire.
Following my retirement, I joined local action groups to assist our MP Grant Shapps. Since then I have become the Deputy Chairman for Membership on the Conservative Association Management for four years between 2012 - 2016 and I am currently the Area Chairman North.
I have also spent my time working for Carers in Herts. I am an active member of a local litter picking group and a keen committee member of the Patient Participation Group for the Moors Walk/Peartree Practice, a post I have held since 2014.
Elected as a Councillor in May 2016, I now represent the Haldens Ward, an area I care deeply about improving.
I am honoured to have been invited to become the Mayor for 2018/19, and I attend many events in the Borough and, meet many residents who do so much within our community.
